What is it?
With the development of CAD design and drafting software, the possibilty arose to be able to take an object drawn in 2 dimensions on a CAD drawing program, and transform this shape into numerical code representing the shape and coordination of the part in relation to a sheet from which it would be cut out from.
These coordinates are then fed into a specialised controller which coordinates all movements of a machine who's main object is that of positioning a plasma cutting torch at the correct coordinates, and provide accurate velocity and motion to be able to cut the programmed part with great accuracy and speed.
With this method, very intricate and complex parts can be cut with relative ease.
Who requires this service?
This fully computerised aluminium cutting service is provided for Naval and Civil architects,
boatbuilders both amateur and proffessional, aluminium truck body builders, sign makers,
sculptors, landscape architects, general engineering companies and any other person requiring
fast turn around times, high accuracy, intricate patterns or just a large quantity of shapes
cut out of aluminium sheets.
Capacity.
Our waterbed is solely dedicated to aluminium alloys to avoid any contamination of the
cut metal with steel and other metals.
Cutting capacity is to 40mm and the bed can accommodate sheets 10metres long by 2400 mm wide.
Can you mark the sheets?
Yes...Bend markings, center lines or simply positioning of future parts on cut parts are made
by use of a Numerically controlled pen marking system in preference to a scriber.
What must I supply?
A standard Autocad drawing on a single layer or a DXF file is all that we need to process
you're cutting. Files may also be downloaded to us via our standard e-mail address.
If you do not have a CAD drawing, we can redraft your parts from a standard manual drawing
so you may then reuse that file for future cutting if needed.
A 3D redrawing and 2D generation of developed parts, which can then be CNC plasma cut, is also available.
Why use CNC Plasma cutting?
This cutting system will provide much faster turn around time of parts ready for assembly,
identical parts replication of great accuracy and the possibility of exploring new more
intricate shapes at lower labour costs.
